Alkane is an active and engaged member of the communities in which we operate. Our employees live locally and participate in local community activities. As a company, our goal is to support the development of more resilient regional communities through the establishment of permanent infrastructure, the provision of training and career opportunities to local residents, and the creation of local economic opportunities (for service providers). We aim to leave a positive legacy that will long outlive the life of mining operations.
Alkane supports communities in central-western NSW through involvement and sponsorship of a range of initiatives and events, from local fundraisers to student career days and agricultural shows.
Alkane values strong and positive relationships with local communities. We are committed to clear and regular communications about our operations and development activities, and welcome community members to engage with us directly about any of our projects.
We are most active in:
- Dubbo Regional Council – Home of our developing Dubbo Project (DP)
- Narromine Shire – Home of Tomingley Gold Operations (TGO)
- Parkes Shire – Home of our rehabilitated Peak Hill Gold Mine
