Elsienora (Gold – Base Metals; EL8550)
The Elsienora tenements are located 75km south of Blayney in Central Western New South Wales and are considered prospective for orogenic-style gold mineralisation and volcanic hosted gold and base metal mineralisation. Alkane holds a 100% interest in the licence after buying out the vendor, Balamara Resources.
Scout drilling in 2015 identified a zone of gold mineralisation at the Cuddyong Prospect and a zone of gold-silver-barium mineralisation at the Picker Prospect. This led to a second phase of drilling at the Cuddyong Prospect that successfully delineated a zone of strong alteration and quartz veining hosted volcaniclastic sediments along a strike length of approximately 700 metres (using a>0.5g/t gold cut-off). A detailed aeromagnetic survey has been completed to assist further target definition.
