Wellington (Copper-Gold; EL6320)
The Wellington Project hosts Galwadgere, a small copper-gold deposit with volcanogenic massive sulphide-type characteristics. It is located southeast of Dubbo in Central Western New South Wales.
The Galwadgere deposit was drilled out in 2005 and a scoping study indicated that additional Resources are required to generate acceptable returns. Preliminary drilling at the North Galwadgere prospect, an immediate extension at depth, indicated extensions of the mineralised horizon with generally higher levels of gold, zinc and other trace elements, suggesting zonation within the system. Alkane has completed soil geochemistry and induced polarisation geophysical surveys to identify additional targets for drilling.
